The 1 200-hectare property is situated in a malaria-free area, and is completely surrounded by other game reserves.
Like an oasis in the savannah, lush lawns surround the main lodge, stretching right to the water’s edge, while the guestrooms and luxury tents lie hidden among the wild thicket. Mackouwkuil has been identified by leading wedding planners and is now being used as an ideal destination for wedding parties of 60 to 80 people. The marquee tent on the water can host 120 guest for the reception for those driving in from town or staying nearby. The lodge has up to 80 beds for family and friends to spend Friday evening to Sunday brunch getting together using the whole lodge exclusively to connect, celebrating and witness the wedding ceremony in either the garden, bush or inside chapel. Mackouwkuil’s luxury settings, lakes, bush, and wildlife makes it the ultimate backdrop for wedding photos of bride, groom and family.
